Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Job Description

Acadia Engineering Inc. is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing civil engineering, municipal infrastructure, land development, and project management services to municipalities, developers, businesses, and property owners throughout Ontario.


Acadia is seeking a Civil Engineer / Project Manager with a minimum of five years of relevant experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects, applying Ontario standards, regulations, and industry best practices.


This position requires a motivated professional who can manage multiple projects, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and oversee project execution with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.

Location: Belleville, ON (must reside in/near or be willing to relocate)


Employment Type: Full-Time


Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing detailed design for subdivision and site plan projects
  • Overseeing detailed design for municipal infrastructure projects
  • Overseeing detailed cost estimates
  • Overseeing detailed tender packages
  • Drafting Proposals


Supplementary Responsibilities

  • Field Inspections
  • Topographic Surveying


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years Project Management experience
  • Excellent understanding of Ontario construction regulations
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and access to personal reliable transportation


Supplementary Assets

  • Civil Engineering License or Certification (C.Tech, CET, EIT, or P.Eng.)
  • Construction Inspection experience
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of land development process
  • Watermodeling (Infowater, EPANET, WaterCAD)
  • Stormwater management (HMS, Otthymo)
  • Microsoft Office programs, including Project
  • Structural experience
  • Experience with GNSS & Total Station surveying equipment and the survey data processing workflow 
  • Valid Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate (drone license) and photogrammetry/LiDAR experience would be considered an asset

Civil Designer / Engineering Technologist

Acadia is seeking a Civil Designer or Civil Engineering Technologist with a minimum of five years of relevant experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will join in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects, applying Ontario standards, regulations, and industry best practices.


This position requires a motivated professional with strong technical and design capabilities who can contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, design models, quantity estimates, and contract documents, coordinating with project managers and clients, and supporting the delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of detailed engineering drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Design and drafting of subdivision, site plan, grading, servicing, and stormwater management projects
  • Design and drafting of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, watermains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers
  • Preparation of quantity calculations, cost estimates, and tender documents
  • Coordination with project managers, clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
  • Assistance with proposal preparation and project documentation


Supplementary Responsibilities

  • Construction inspection and contract administration support
  • Topographic surveying and field data collection
  • Drone-assisted data collection and photogrammetric processing
  • Asset management and infrastructure assessment projects


Required Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant civil infrastructure and/or land development experience
  • Sufficient proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, including corridors, pipe networks, plan & profiles, and dynamic grading operations (examples of applicant's past drawings may be requested)
  • Experience with GNSS & Total Station surveying equipment and the survey data processing workflow
  • Strong understanding of Ontario municipal design standards, OPSS, and related regulations
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and access to personal reliable transportation


Supplementary Assets

  • C.Tech., C.E.T., rcji designation, or higher (rcsi, rcca, E.I.T., or P.Eng., etc.)
  • Valid Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate (drone license) and photogrammetry/LiDAR experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience with civil construction inspection
  • Experience with subdivision and site plan approvals
  • Experience with stormwater management modelling (PCSWMM, Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-HMS, etc.)
  • Experience with water distribution modelling (InfoWater, EPANET, WaterCAD, etc.)
  • Experience with GIS software and spatial data management
  • Experience preparing tender packages and construction cost estimates
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Project
